Papillon - Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in Landshut

The food and service were great. Only thing that disappointed me was that they tacked on a service charge, seemingly to offset a coupon that was handed to us by a promotions person in front of the restaurant. No one else mentioned any service charge on their reviews so this came as a surprise. I guess they don't want you actually getting a discount, only to think you're getting one, then negating it by adding a service charge. Not nice. Overall it was still a good meal for a reasonable price, so I still give 4 stars.

Oh... this really IS the #MeToo Aruba place, with their story of an innocent man framed for murder & the blue butterfly on the menu. Henri Charriere would have been ALL over #MeToo, in my opinion. One waiter told me Charriere died... almost ruined my dinner until I Googled the story for myself - he LIVED! Enjoy the restaurant, the food, the story of resilience & check out the map inside. Don’t sit too close to the TV if you can’t watch murder while eating.

We had a spectacular experience at this beautiful restaurant. Service was first class, ambiance and lighting romantic, amazing live entertainment and the most incredible food and wine. The foie gras and sweetbread appetizers were complimented by beautiful sauces. The filet mignon in red wine with truffle mashed potatoes were the softest and tastiest steaks we have experienced this year and probably longer. The recommended 2015 Pomerol was smooth and silky and surprisingly strong enough for the meal and certainly for drinking. Overall a wonderful evening that will be long remembered.

Came here during Covid era. This place was delish! Got the duck breast and a mushroom vegan risotto. It also felt very safe as all the servers were wearing mask.

I went to this restaurant after reading everyone’s reviews and felt I was some place completely different. The food I would rate at a 4 at best (burnt mushrooms, mushy risotto, mushy fish). The service is completely horrible. In addition, not all staff covers their nose with their mask even when you ask them to. I would say this is dining but certainly not fine dining. I expected so much more and would definitely never return. Btw one review said live music two days ago. I didn’t experience that at all either.

Live music and wonderful staff. Bread is delicious. We got lobster bisque and sweetbread for apps. Braised lamb, and grouper octopus risotto for entrees.

Great location, excellent food with fantastic service! The young waiter was warm, friendly and professional! The host was soooooo wonderful, and took time to explain the local liquor I was having after dinner! A must if you're on the Palm Beach side of the island!

Exelent wine list and very good food.

Could not believe a vegan crab cake could be done so well! The flavor was spot on...also got the mushroom escargot...so much flavor but not overdone. We then had the "fish" stew made with eggplant....so hearty and delicious. Food presentation was gorgeous and ingredients were fresh. I was looking for a vegan (or even vegetarian) dinner with variety and I got that and more! Everything was so tasty and our waiter (Diego) as very knowledgeable and made that experience so much better! He was able to speak on what we ate as well which made us that much more confident in our dinner decisions. Also, very COVID safe... everyone had masks, they took our temperature upon entry, and even offered digital menu.

Best food on the island hands down!!!!!! Chef Griet is a force in the kitchen!!!! I'll make a trip every week just to eat there!!! Food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! Great job Papillon TEAM!!!! Front of the house staff was amazing as well!!!!!

This pace was a disapointment. For the last 4 years, we dined at Papillon once every visit to the island. I, guess, next visit we'll skip this restaurant.

Nice place with eager staff. All dishes we ate were over salted.

Great food, staff & Ambience. Even with Covid they do a great job of social distancing everyone and provide excellent service. There is a slightly reduced menu but the taste and quality of the food is on point. Not a bad idea to call for a reservation.

We found this place in a magazine they were giving out at our hotel. They had more exotic fare such as wild boar and duck al’orange so we decided we would go here for a nice dinner before we left the island. We called ahead to reserve seating for the 5 of us and were informed that because of Covid they could only sit 4 at a table. But they were incredibly friendly and helpful so they gave us indoor seating (we had the whole inside to ourselves!) and put the tables as close as they could. Also due to Covid their menu was different then it was online and in the magazine. They didn’t have the more exotic foods, which while disappointing was fine. They did have great specials though. We started with French Onion Soup, Burrata and Mozzarella Salad (one of the specials), Lobster Ceviche and assorted wines. All were delicious and the wine menu is huge (as it should be at any respectable French place). As well they brought us their homemade bread which was to die for. For entrees we had the Skirt Steak, 2 Beet Risottos, Salmon, and the special Mussels. Again all were delicious. I could have drank the gouda sauce that came with the steak it was that good. The whole time the staff were delightful and even chatted with us for some time. We topped the meal off with 2 Creme Brulees which looked almost too pretty to eat. At the end, we even received a discount which we weren’t sure was due to the Covid inconveniences or just the staff being friendly. Either way it sure helped as the place is on the pricier side, but in my opinion it would have been totally worth it even without the discount.

Great dinner

I go to Aruba every year and make it a point to come to Papillion. The food is phenomenal and service is always top notch. Make sure you come here during your stay in Aruba — it will be well worth it! If you happen to see Roy, make sure to ask him to help you for the evening.

We have been coming to this restaurant for several years! It's a restaurant with flair and a comfortable atmosphere. The hostess was very pleasant and professional. We had the onion soup and chevre salad as appetizer and the sea bass and skirt steak as main course. All food was outstanding and prepared perfectly! Also credits to our waitress, she was very professional and had a lot of knowledge. We will definitely keep the tradition to come back to this restaurant!

Uniquely intimate ambience, delicious cuisine, wonderful service by Diego. Drinks were potent. Foie gras and lobster to die for. Best dinner of our vacation.

Good service decent food, 3 wines were spoiled/corked I returned two one was Cabernet they served ice cold, I did not consume that garbage. I hate smelling cigarettes during a meal, here smokers stand outside the screen on way into a mini mart and congregate or walking by. One gripe is be prepared to be hassled and hustled by every timeshare vacation club b/s greeter as you walk in.

The service and food were amazing! The staff was so kind and quick to help. They did a great job explaining the food options. The place was extremely cute. We were looking for an early dinner and ended up doing the early bird special! It was a great portion for us at a really good price! I got the grouper and my husband got the filet mignon and neither of us could complain! We will definitely be coming back next year when we come back to Aruba!

Tucked in behind more touristy places, this restaurant is a gem for fine dining right around the corner from all the bustle.

Service was wonderful and food was good. French offerings with a decent amount of seafood. Location is easily accessible from the resorts.
